So I picked up some new beauty goods at the Ulta in Sterling Heights, MI. It was closer (and cheaper) than Sephora. Downside? No beauty insider points. And I’m so close to obtaining VIB Rouge status. Oh well. With new beauty products comes another half assed beauty review. I may suck at reviewing, but I have a legit life outside of beauty and cosmetics that prevents me from spending longer than 15 minutes staring at a computer screen.
Urban Decay Nocturnal Shadow Box:
This shadow box includes twelve eyeshadows with a dual-ended brush. The shadows are overall pigmented, long-wearing and blendable. They’re relatively simple to use together and it isn’t a struggle to apply and blend them out. However, this palette is a little redundant. It’s a smaller palette, and while it is value-packed compared to purchasing individual shades, it’s not quite the deal that some of the larger palettes like Naked are.
This palette includes “eight must-haves” from the permanent line along with “four exclusives” from past sets. It really is a great deal for the price ($29.00) in my opinion.
Urban Decay After Glow:
I was torn between purchasing this and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit. But I’ve had some not so great experiences with ABH products and hitting the pan way too early in the past. Read up about their Subculture palette bust for more on that.
I’m pretty stoked with this product so far. It’s super simple to blend and illuminate using the three highlighters and blush. Here’s a breakdown of all the shades. Bliss, a matte champagne highlighter. Peroxide, a shimmery pink blush. NSFW, a bronzing highlighter, and my personal favorite.. And Side Piece, a pale shimmer highlighter.
So there you have it. My opinion on more beauty products. File that under useless Internet discourse 101 along with the many other beauty product reviews flooding the webosphere right now. Totally original, I know, and I don’t care.
